The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request that I write a drabble/doodle a pic of any pairing/character of their choosing of any series I'm familiar with. If you're not sure, post a reference pic. :P
In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level. (If you absolutely can't write, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to offer drawings or icons or something instead.)

1) [livejournal.com profile] korinacaffeine Troll/human, specifically Zek'jaf and Lara from WoW
2) [livejournal.com profile] chaosdragon draco malfoy in black rimmed glasses. open dress shirt and candy cane in his mouth optional. (which means not really :P)
3) [livejournal.com profile] silver11016 Oshitari Yuushi from Prince of Tennis, your choice of attempting to cook or driving a Skyline GT-R.
4) [livejournal.com profile] marythemango Zetsu/Sakura

Ahahaha... damnit. So, I emailed one of my favorite fantasy/watercolor artists the other day to ask for a price quote on a tattoo I wanted to commission from her. She just replied back that an ink version would be $150, and $275 for ink plus watercolor shading. D: Was expecting it'd be up there, but still kind of a "holy crap" moment to see it listed. I still want to have her do it though, because her artwork is absolutely gorgeous and detailed.

I did get another quote from a guy that specializes in authentic Celtic tattoos (he quoted $75), but his replies were really abrupt and not very professional from someone that runs a successful tattoo parlor/design shop, so that kinda turned me off of him. :/ Still waiting on replies from two other artists, but I'm betting they'll be just as high as Puimun, if not higher, since one of them specializes in knotwork designs.

I kind of wanted to get it done for my birthday this year, but unless I either get a job really soon, or manage to sell a bunch more stuff on ebay, I don't think I'll have the cash to pay for both the design commission and the tattoo itself. Damnit! ><

This is the design, if you're curious; it's part tribute to my dad, part protection, part personal:

Ink base. Might want watercolor shading later. A knotwork Celtic tree of life tattoo design that incorporates a wolf twisting/running in the trunk with the rune Algiz outlined in the spaces between the tree's branches (must face upward as in the linked pic). Sprawling roots and branches are bonus.

I'm thinking the applied tattoo would be about 4 inches high on my right hip/side... want to be able to see it without excessive contortion/use of a mirror, but not out in the open unless I want to show someone.

ivyadrena: (Glitch/dg - thisislove)
So, I'm thinking of this design for my tattoo, only smoother and with better knotwork. Thinking about 2 or 3 inches on my right hip.

The last handful (at least!) of people that faved this pic of mine only add it because it's a nude. They don't actually care who it is, or what it looks like, just that it's a naked chick.

Wanna know how I realized this? This guy's the latest to fave it. Aren't his Favorites just so....themed? ><

I wish....

Art Meme
The first five people to respond to this post, will get some form of art, by me, for/about them. I make no guarantees about quality or type, but I will assure that I will give it good effort and that the art will be individual to you, so if you get a mixed CD or some sort of paintingdoodle, yours is the only one like it.

The format may vary ***greatly***. It could be a cd, something written, something randonly bought off ebay, something explained, or something else random.

The only catch, of course; as with most memes, if you sign up, you have to put this in your own journal as well.

You'll get a quick doodle of the chara of your choice-- if I don't know 'em, then you'll have to provide a reference pic so it doesn't end up like a Picasso-on-crack or something. If I'm inspired, I *might* do a short drabble, but no guarantees on that, I'm still not done translating my hero myth for class.

For the writers out there...

[livejournal.com profile] chaosdragon and I were talking this weekend, and of course ambled into a discussion about our writing styles, preferences, etc, and now I'm curious about something.

When she started, she was more comfortable with writing fanfic using pre-existing characters than were she to create her own (and still is, to an extent). But she's good at what she does, so her origional characters aren't something to be dismissed.

Personally, I'm more comfortable with creating my own characters-- their personalities, backgrounds, what makes them tick. I have a really hard time "hearing" characters that aren't my own, when writing. Hense why I don't often venture into writing fanfic of my own; I'll have a plotbunny, and then inflict it upon [livejournal.com profile] chaosdragon. *evil grin* A couple of which I gave her last night/this morning, most all of which she's going to kill me for even mentioning to her. Because I may suck at writing decent fanfic, but I can damned well come up with a plotline.

...anyway, to get my train of thought back on its' tracks.

So here's the question: whether you write or draw, or something else entirely... are you more comfortable with your own Voices, or do you prefer to play with other people's characters and worlds? Why do you think that is?

Oh, and Maggie? BEWARE!
ivyadrena: (WK crawschu)

...okay, so only Crawford and Schildig are customized. I'm still trying to decide if I should fix Farferello's eye or hair, and if Nagi even needs me to change anything. Maybe a 'lil shortening of his hair on the side. Maybe. *ponders*

Okay, why does this comic not have a larger fanbase, and why the FUCK have I not seen it before?

Yes, I realize I wrote it. I also know that I've tried drawing it, and just can't make it work.

The door was a hulking thing of solid, dark ebony, and had to be at least three inches thick. Four deadbolt locks marched up one side above the curved golden handle, and the inlaid panels seemed to be carved with depictions of something out of Dante's Inferno. But that wasn't what had caught her gaze; perhaps in spite of what was obviously mean to be extra security, there was a large stained-glass window inset into the top half of the monolith. In contrast to the Hellish carvings, the glass and iron was twisted into an intricate gold Celtic cross on a background of fractured crimson. Arching over the design was a phrase in what looked like Greek.

EDIT! Added two new Challengers~ (and accidentally deleted the previous post of this with [livejournal.com profile] kcwriter's comment thread. crap... ><)

Okay! A while ago, I cross-posted an art-drabble challenge thinger to my lj's, as well as my DA Journal. For my benefit, as well as yours, here is a current list of challenges recieved, and their current status. Not in any particular order... Anything crossed-out is complete, and you can view the pic at the link in the far right of the column. If you challenged me but don't see it listed, please comment here as I may have misplaced it. ^^;

If you aren't on the list, but would like to be: Visit
these two lj posts, and leave me a challenge for either-- your choice.

How about something from my own work, it'll be static so dont worry!

In front of the Martian lay an African-American angel with light purple wings; he was unconscious and from the angle he was in that he had collapsed. “Virgil… V, come on wake up!” Gear rushed over and was able to place a hand on the angel’s shoulder.

Clarification: this is in Dakota Hills Mall on the second floor balcony thingy.. Virgil's wearing brown trousers and a white t-shirt.
