I'm cleaning out my closet and I've come across some of my old romance novels. I need to get rid of them, but I don't want to just send them off to Goodwill. Would anyone be interested in adopting some of these? I can make a list of the titles, but I'd like to get an idea of how many people would actually want them-- there's at least a hundred in total, probably more. I wasn't called 'the Library' for nothing. :P

There's a bunch of random titles of varying genres, but I also have a good portion of a couple complete and almost-complete series, including but probably not limited to:

  • Christine Feehan (Carpathian Vampires and Shapeshifter. Dark Desire with Jaques and Shea is signed by the author. Paperback.)
  • Laurell K. Hamilton (Anita Blake and Merry Gentry. One of the AB books is signed by LKH, but it's to me, so I'm debating on if want to keep it or not. All hardbound.)
  • Hannah Howell (Highlander. Paperback.)
  • Karen Moning (Highlander with some Timetravel. Paperback and hardbound.)

I ask only that you pay shipping, and that shouldn't be too much as I'd send it bookrate or whatever it's called.

I'm also probably going to sell off some of my anime/manga-- yes, sell. I paid more for the Japanese stuff than the romance novels, so I need to recoup at least some of my losses, here. I'll post a more complete list once I have everything together, but here's some titles:

  • Yu Yu Hakusho (season 1 dvds)
  • Gensomaden Saiyuki (season 1 dvds, 1-9, I think)
  • InuYasha (dvds, 12 and 13)
  • InuYasha (manga, have to check how far up)
  • Rurouni Kenshin (series, not OVA, 1 and 2)
  • Wallflower (manga up to volume 10ish)

Any sales I make from these will go towards my college fund. If you're interested in any of these (or are looking for something specific), just leave me a comment here, and we can discuss prices and whatnot.

Very short (15 seconds?) and quickly translated trailer for the 4th Naruto movie SAKURA SCREAMS AND IT SOUNDS HOT. EXCUSE ME WHILST I GO SPAZZ SOME MORE. *does so*

On a completely unrelated note:
...Is it a good or bad thing that I can correctly identify Sarah Brightman's voice after hearing only about three notes?

Also, I am full of lame. I'm not saying why yet, but if you've talked to me in the past... oh, week? Yeah. You know why. *headdesks, shuffles through notes*

So, I've been trying to get Kyle to read [livejournal.com profile] viridian5's Weiß Kreuz fanfic, Glass Houses, for a while now, but he had never seen the series before. Well, we're watching it right now (I'm trying to restrain myself with the sarcastic commentary, but it's not quite working, lol), and this came up:

[livejournal.com profile] ivyadrena: You'll get the cool theory [about Yoji's ability to lever someone over twice his body-weight off the ground in a stranglehold with only his garroette wire and a grimace] in Glass Houses... yeah.
[livejournal.com profile] rei_andou : What, that he weighs down his shoes?
[livejournal.com profile] ivyadrena: ... XD

ivyadrena: (bloodyhands)
Hmm... damn. I swear there was an extra side-plot in Weiß Kreuz that involved the boys faking their deaths, and there was a merry-go-round or something. Does this ring any bells, or did I have a really amazing dream years before I'd even seen more than the first DVD of the show?
ivyadrena: (WK: farfie)
....kay, first episode of Wei ß Kreuz Gluhen?

What. The. Fuck.

I knew to brace myself for disappointment and such, but... seriously. Wtf were they thinking, doing a complete chara redesign? It's pretty, but the charas aren't themselves anymore. Dude, Omi's take on Persia is just weird. Why the hell does he need a voice scrambler? Do the others suddenly just not know that he's off galavanting as their illustrious new leader? Just how far post-Esset-destruction is Gluhen supposed to be?

And in what episodes does Schwarz start to show up, so I can soundproof my room ahead of time lest my rantings wake up the neighborhood? That one kid from Class S looks kinda like Nagi to me, but it's hard to tell with the desecration of that which is Weiß Kreuz.

I suppose it doesn't help that whomever translated for the subtitle team was very... er, literal in their work, and the subtitlers themselves didn't space things very well...

Sigh. This is gonna hurt.
ivyadrena: (WK crawschu)

...okay, so only Crawford and Schildig are customized. I'm still trying to decide if I should fix Farferello's eye or hair, and if Nagi even needs me to change anything. Maybe a 'lil shortening of his hair on the side. Maybe. *ponders*

Hmm... I wonder....

Has anyone seen a well-thought out, well-written rant or essay on the parallels of anime and the Harry Potter universe (or other current pop culture series), and the fans that love both?
ivyadrena: (~Stargate photo)
EJ, luv, check your email. I sent it to both your gmail and one of your yahell accounts, so let me know if you've got a different addy I can use.

Had an odd dream this morning... for some reason, I had a baby squirrel scampering on/clinging to me whilst I tried to tell the people at Kinko's that I needed a hundred copies of two pages, which randomly kept multiplying by themselves, only with different info and such on them. wtf?

O_o' Tracy randomly dropped me off at home an hour early today, cause there's this BBQ thing for our boss's Real Estate Broker that they had to go to. Yay!

Would anyone be interested in buying the first dozen or so DVD's of Gensomaden Saiyuki from me? It's one of those series' that I still like, but never friggin' watch anymore, 'cause I have to buy the damn things in order to watch them, instead of having the option to watch on tv/rent/dl from bittorrent. Grawr.

Subconscious Naga

O_o; I tell my subconscious "Self portrait" and it gives me this. Go me.
Subconscious Naga

Damn it.

I don't know how the Hell I managed it, but I did...
I got a cold while living in the high 90 degree weather of sunny Florida. >_<

On the up side, Beth and I have been plotting our Anime Madness Week. (details in her LJ, as I dun wanna repeat what she's already said.)
Ah, AFO... *grin*
Right now, we're gathering names and such to see how many people are gonna go total. We're planning on kidnapping Bri-bri for it, so that should be interesting. *evil grin*

Ack, gotta go postie in my RP groups.. Ja!~
